Izatnagar, February 20, 2026 – The Division of Veterinary Public Health (VPH) at ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) has unveiled a pioneering Zoonoses Awareness Calendar spanning 2026-2028, designed specifically for farmers to combat key zoonotic diseases prevalent in India.
This vital IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) material highlights preventive strategies against major zoonoses like rabies, brucellosis, leptospirosis, and Japanese Encephalitis, which pose significant risks at the human-animal interface. Developed under an IVRI-funded project, the calendar serves as a practical, year-round guide to foster hygiene, vaccination, and biosecurity practices among livestock keepers.
