ABSTRACT

A total of 205 milk (73) and meat based (132) fast food samples were collected from four districts of Mizoram. All the samples were examined for B. cereus using BCA as a selective medium. The positive isolates were subjected for antibiotic sensitivity assay against ten common ntimicrobial agents by disc diff usion method. The isolates showed a high rate of susceptibility to vancomycin (100%), ciprofl oxacin (98.03%), gentamicin (96.07%), erythromycin (94.11%), chloramphenicol (88.23%), tetracycline (84.31%), neomycin (70.58%), and a very low level of susceptibility to ampicillin (2%), amoxicillin (1%) and penicillin-G (1%).
