Instruction to Authors

Preparation of manuscript

Manuscript should be written in English (Times New Roman, Font Size 12), normally not exceeding 6000 words and prepared in word format with 2.5 cm margins on all sides and double spacing throughout. Every page of manuscript (except title page) should be numbered. The final manuscript to should be submitted by email to jvph2003@gmail.com

The manuscript should be organized as detailed below -

Title page, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussions (Results and discussions should preferably be combined), Acknowledgements (if any), References, Tables/figures along with their captions.

 

Title page :

The title page should include title of paper, name (s) of the author (s) with complete address (es), present address (es) of author (s), if any. The corresponding author should be identified with an asterix (*), E-mail address, phone and fax number of corresponding author should be provided. A?liation should be written below the title of the manuscript.

Abstract:

It should be clear and descriptive with not more than 250 words. It should have a It should have a critical gaps or aim of the study in one or two lines, brief account of materials and methods used, results followed by conclusions so that it gives a gist of work done.

Introduction:

It should be a brief account of the problem or objective of the experiment supported with appropriate review of literature pertinent to the problem.

Materials and Methods:

This section should give detailed account of the animals, materials, methods and experimental design employed in the study. Normally, citation of a reference from where the technique(s) have been used is sufficient. However, the modifications made should be described so as to make it adaptable or replicated by others. The statistical methods used, if any, should be clearly stated.

Results and discussion:

Results and discussion should be combined together and a brief but clear account of the results obtained should be given which may be supported with table(s) and / or figure(s). The table(s) should be self-explanatory with appropriate title. All weights and measurements should be given in metric units (Some of the examples of units are-nmol, pmol, µmol, mg, µg, ng, µL, ≥, ≤, ±, α, β, @, °C, h, min, s, d, kPa, mL, L, kg, m2m/s. Please ensure that all the special characters used are embedded in the text, otherwise they will be lost during conversion to PDF. The tables and figures should be given on a separate page. Discuss and relate the ?ndings of the experiment with others and highlight limitations and / or achievements of the experiment. Repetition of the content of tables and ?gures with the text should be avoided. All photographs should be of excellent printable quality. All line drawings and photographs should have legends.

References:

Citation of the references in text should be as follows

  1. Three or more than 3 authors: Jones et al . (1992) or (Jones et al ., 1992)
  2. Two authors: Chhabra and Arora (1993) or (Chhabra and Arora, 1993)
  3. One author: Singh (2001) or (Singh, 2001)

Layout of references in bibliography should be as follows:

Short communications:

Should not exceed 4 printed pages (2000 words) and should not have more than one table, figure or photograph. It should be written without headings; however, methods and results should be adequately described.

Publication charges:

The charges for processing and publication for a manuscript is Rs. 1000/-. The charges are to be paid once the manuscript has been accepted for publication. Author(s) will have to pay additional charges Rs. 1000/- per plate for the colour photographs. No reprints will be issued.
