The study revealed that irrespective of the nature of job, majority of the respondents (63.59%) had high level of knowledge, while 34% had medium knowledge in this area. Group wise analysis of data reveled that majority of the LDO’s (63.43%) had medium level of knowledge when compared to the research scientists who in majority (85.48%) had high level of knowledge with respect to the occupational health hazards and safety precautions for hazard free working conditions. Knowledge level within the selected veterinarians differed significantly (p<0.01). Non availability of protective clothing like gloves, masks, boots etc, lack of prophylactic vaccination, lack of animal restraints, lack of work safety trainings and refresher courses were reported as most severe constraints.
