ABSTRACT

Cyclophilins are ubiquitous proteins with an enzymatic activity of peptidyl-prolylcis-trans isomerase A (PPIase A), which play important roles in a variety of stress conditions. In this study, we reported the cloning and sequence analysis of cyclophilin gene (PPIase A) from Salmonella Typhimurium. The sequencing data of resultant PCR fragment (573 bp) revealed 100% homology between PPIase A sequences from Salmonella Typhimurium strain E-3232 and PPIase A sequences of standard reported strain (Salmonella Typhimurium str. LT2) in NCBI database. Interestingly the PPIase A sequence showed about 90-100% homology with another Salmonella serovars. This identity suggested that PPIase A gene of Salmonella is highly conserved in most of the pathogenic Salmonella. PPIase A is probably involved in a wide range of biochemical and physiological processes.
