ABSTRACT

A seroprevalence study was conducted in Bikaner district of Rajasthan for the incidence of Q-fever in 226 patients with the complaint of PUO and 11 volunteers who were associated with animal trade. Overall percentage of seropositive cases among 237 samples examined was 2.91, whereas the seroprevalence percentage observed was 2.21, 14.28 and 25.0 in PUO cases, animal breeders/owners and abattoir workers, respectively. The seropositivity was detected by capillary agglutination test.
