ABSTRACT

The present study was undertaken to evaluate the comparative efficacy of three different selective plating media for the isolation of C. jejuni. Park and Sanders agar medium was found superior as compared to other media used in the present study. This might be due to better inhibition of other competing flora as well as the type and composition of other ingredients present in this medium, which favoured the growth of C. jejuni. It may be recommended for better isolation and selectivity of C. jejuni from poultry samples during monitoring, risk assessments and control measures against C. jejuni.
