ABSTRACT
The present study was undertaken to know the status of intestinal parasites of zoonotic importance in the monkeys in the Tarai region of Uttaranchal, viz., Pantnagar, Rudrapur, Kathgodam, Haldwani and Lalkuan. A total of 50 faecal samples from monkeys were collected from various locations of the state of Uttaranchal and analyzed for the presence of intestinal parasites of zoonotic importance. Out Of 50, 47 samples (94%) were found to contain various parasites, i.e., T. trichura (60%), Ancylostoma duodenale (20%), Trichostrongylus spp. (14%), Oesophagostomum spp. (14%), S. stercoralis (10%), Entamoeba histolytica (40%), B. coli (16%), E. coli (14%) and Giardia intestinalis (10%).
