ABSTRACT

The study was conducted to understand consumer preferences and the marketing potential of meat and meat products in Kerala. For this purpose, 80 consumers each from rural and urban sectors were selected. Analysis of the results provided key insights into consumer preferences, demand and availability of meat and meat products, awareness regarding meat preservation, and concerns about product quality. Most consumers emphasized the need for proper veterinary inspection, effective law enforcement, and prevention of slaughtering of over-aged animals to improve meat quality.
