ABSTRACT
Listeria monocytogenes was confirmed as the causative organism of abortions/still-births and neonatal deaths by cultural, morphological, biochemical and animal inoculation tests coupled with characteristic clinical manifestations in infected lambs. The organism was highly sensitive to gentamicin and resistant to tetracycline, ampicillin, amoxycillin, choramphenicol and nalidixic acid.Key words: Abortion, Listeria monocytogenes, Sheep, Still birth.
