ABSTRACT
Isolation of Campylobacter jejuni from 47 surface swabs and 55 cloacal swabs of broilers from retail outlets in and around Namakkal was attempted. A total of 28 isolates were obtained giving an overall incidence of 27.45% for C. jejuni in this area. Out of 47 meat surface swabs and 55 cloacal swabs 11(23.4%) and 17(30.9%), respectively, were positive for C. jejuni. Isolates were sensitive to nalidixic acid, gentamicin and enrofloxacin.Keywords: Antibiogram, broilers, Campylobacter jejuni
