ABSTRACT
Analysis of 200 raw and cooked mutton samples revealed 47 samples to be positive for Bacillus cereus. Contamination of raw and cooked mutton was to an extent of 30% and 15%, respectively. Biotype 1 was the predominant biotype (34.04%) contaminating both raw and cooked mutton whereas, biotype 3 was recovered only from cooked mutton (14.90%).Keywords: Bacillus cereus, biotypes, mutton.
