Comparison of IFA and ELISA in the Diagnosis of Borreliosis in Dogs
Page No. : 41-42
ABSTRACT
A total of 235 serum samples collected from a cross section of dogs were screened for the detection of antibodies against borreliosis. Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detected 18 positive cases with a prevalence of 7.7%, whereas indirect fluorescent antibody (IFA) test detected only 12 samples positive with a prevalence of 5.1%. Comparison of these tests revealed more sensitivity by ELISA than IFA in the serodiagnosis of canine Lyme disease. Keywords: Canine borreliosis, ELISA, IFA, sensitivity
