ABSTRACT
A survey was conducted to assess the prevalence of bovine brucellosis in Uttar Pradesh, India. Bovine sera samples collected from 1085 animals (cattle and buffalo). Out of these 1085 samples, 415 were collected from organized farms and 670 from individual reared animals. These samples were screened by RBPT and STAT. STAT and RBPT recorded a seroprevalence of 6.99% and 8.19% and 5.22% and 6.26% in farm animals and individually reared animals, respectively. A total of 476 milk samples of bovine were screened for brucellosis by using milk ring test (MRT). Of these, 28 (5.88%) milch animals were found reactors for milk ring test.Keywords: Bovine, brucellosis, milk ring test, RBPT, seroprevalence, STAT
