ABSTRACT

This qualitative study was conducted keeping in view the increasing reports of adulteration in milk with various substances, and to ascertain the status of brucellosis, in milk supplied to the consumers. Both these parameters are of great concern now-a-days, as both risks the public health. A milk sample was collected from a local source around Apollo College of Veterinary Medicine, Jaipur, Rajasthan. Among the various adulterants, extraneous water, sugar (sucrose), and glucose (dextrose) were detected in the milk samples. Milk samples were found negative for brucellosis employing milk ring test. Quality control tests for milk on regular basis should be mandatory in order to produce hazard free product to the consumers without compromising their health.
